Smartphone sales drop by 9.5% worldwide

Smartphone shipments dropped by 9.5 per cent year on year to 265.9 million units in Q2 of 2023, according to the latest research by Omdia, an analyst group.

All major smartphone makers aside from Transsion Holdings and Huawei had declines year-on-year with the three largest, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi, all having shipments fall more than 10 per cent. Shipments were down by 1.2 per cent on a quarterly basis.
