RTÉ chair sought Forbes’ resignation on Friday June 16, committee told

Former DG refused to tender her resignation at that point, kick starting a disciplinary process

Siún Ní Raghallaigh, the chairperson of the RTÉ board, has confirmed that she asked former director general Dee Forbes to resign on June 16.

She said when the initial Grant Thornton report was delivered to the Audit and Risk sub-committee of the board about under-declared payments to Ryan Tubridy, committee recommended that Forbes should be asked to resign.

Ní Raghallaigh said she asked for Forbes resignation on Friday, June 16.
