Open AI, Amazon, and legal execs to sit on state’s new AI taskforce

Council, which is chaired by Dr Patricia Scanlon, is made up of 14 members across a range of disciplines including tech, legal, and business

Representatives of Open AI, Amazon Web Services, and legal professionals have been confirmed as members of the government’s new artificial intelligence (AI) body tasked with “rapidly” responding to emerging technologies.

The new AI Advisory Council met for the first time on Wednesday having been set up to provide expert advice to the government on emerging AI policy and the development of trustworthy artificial intelligence.
