Finding and installing sustainable energy technologies has become a priority for many businesses, but between navigating the grant process and finding the right supplier, it can be a mammoth task.

EnergieXPro has found success in this growing market by offering a wide range of renewable energy solutions, accompanied by the advice and guidance to help large businesses save as much money as possible without interrupting their day-to-day business activity.

Organisation’s name: EnergieXPrp

Number of employees: 20

Turnover: €3 million

Why it’s in the news: EnergieXPrp offers a full and comprehensive range of sustainable energy solutions.

Established in 2013, the company designs, supplies, installs and maintains a full range of innovative green technologies, specialising in bespoke systems that flawlessly integrate a number of different technologies, such as solar PV, battery storage, heating systems, hot water systems and electric car chargers.

Their ability to design and install complex renewable energy systems makes it easy for all sizes of businesses to achieve efficiency, cut costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

“We’re probably the only company in Ireland that offers a full suite of solutions suitable for large-scale commercial projects, as well as private homes,” comments Brian Conneely, director, EnergieXPro.

“We can walk into hotels, nursing homes or universities and there is no upgrade in that building that we cannot undertake. Our competitors can offer solar or heating systems separately, but we can combine all in one installation that maximises efficiency and is all integrated together.

“Not only do we offer a full suite of services to clients but we also help with the grant process, which is time -onsuming. We work with our clients to plan their project and explain what grants they are eligible for.

“Many of our larger clients have achieved up to 50 per cent grants this year, along with 12.5 per cent capital allowance. So that’s basically 62.5 per cent funds back in their cash flow.

Some companies just want to sell, sell, sell, but we evaluate, plan, advise

“This really is our strong point. Some companies just want to sell, sell, sell, but we evaluate, plan, advise. About 90 per cent of our work comes from referrals.”

Conneely has travelled extensively sourcing new technologies, which he says has paid off in terms of both the company’s offerings and their ability to overcome the extensive challenges that have faced the construction industry in recent years. “Demand for energy efficiency increased substantially during Covid. Thanks to my travels I have sourced a lot of products and recruited qualified workers.

“Hardworking and good people who want to work are hard to find. Some of our staff were recruited from South Africa, which works very well with our Irish team. There’s a skills shortage across the construction sector in Ireland, and in fact the Irish government also actively recruited in the three main cities across South Africa.”

Currently the company has a turnover of about €3 million, but Conneely says that there are a lot of exciting projects in the pipeline; in fact he expects turnover to double in 2024. To help with their growth, EnergieXPro has just begun a third round of EIIS funding with Gresham Wealth.

Nationwide service

“We’ve been involved with Gresham Wealth for some years now. We plan to expand in 2024 offering a nationwide service. We have firm pipelines of bigger projects so we’d be looking to raise €1 million to €2 million.”

As well as bigger projects, the company is looking to keep at the forefront of the industry by constantly improving their offerings.

“We are developing new technologies all the time. For example we are combining wind turbines and solar and also adding a new type of fuelless generator that is in the development stage. We aim to promote battery storage as we have gained substantial experience and know-how which adds value to the clients’ systems.

“We also want to expand our EV chargers technology running on our own platform. We have held discussions with bus companies looking to integrate an electric charge network into their operations.

“We’ve just won a large tender, and we are proud to have done one of the largest supermarkets in Ireland in addition to having Centra, CIE and TUS in our completed projects portfolio. So our projects are getting bigger and we’re getting busier.”
