Manufacturing sector urged to prioritise human-led approaches when adopting new technologies

New study recommends that new digital tools should be use to empower and not replace self-directed teams

A first of its kind study into the culture of Irish manufacturing firms and how they incorporate a human-centric design approach for digital tools was unveiled today.

The research, carried out by Digital Manufacturing Ireland (DMI), an Irish industry body, found that only a third of industry leaders were embracing human-centric manufacturing (HCM) principles when designing digital workflows for their firms.
