The EU economy is at risk from a lack of sufficient private investment in areas like energy, tech and defence, Ireland’s EU commissioner has said.

In a letter to former European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi, Mairead McGuinness said the EU needs to act now to keep its lead on climate change and keep up with its competitors for new technologies.
