Ireland will have one additional seat in the European Parliament following elections next June.

The parliament today voted in favour of allocating a number of additional MEP seats across member states to reflect demographic changes. Ireland is to be allocated one additional seat, bringing the state’s total number to 14 after the next European Parliament elections.
