Inflation fell below 3% in March

Recreation and culture and restaurants and hotels saw the largest annual price growth

Inflation fell to 2.9 per cent in Ireland in March, down from an annual rate of 3.4 per cent in February and 4.1 per cent at the beginning of the year.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), the main metric tracking inflation in Ireland, rose by 2.9 per cent between March 2023 and March 2024 – marking the fifth consecutive month where the rate of inflation was lower than 5 per cent.
