FAI pulls out of Oireachtas committee meeting on €500m state funding application

National soccer body was due to appear before sports committee next week

The FAI has pulled out of an appearance before the Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media next Wednesday, Fianna Fáil Senator Shane Cassells has told the Seanad.

The national soccer association, which is in the midst of yet another funding crisis, was due to appear before the committee to discuss its application for €500 million in capital structural support for grants.
