Echelon, the Irish-owned data centre company, has announced it has secured a major strategic investment of almost €800 million from Starwood Capital, a US investment group, which values the data centre group at around €2.5 billion.

On Thursday, Echelon announced it had agreed a strategic investment from the US investment fund, which will fuel the Irish data centre company’s continued expansion and see Starwood Capital become a 50 per cent shareholder in the business.
