Deutsche Bank: ECB to cut interest rates next April rather than June

The German bank told its clients that it expected the European Central Bank to cut rates at leat two months earlier than previously expected

The European Central Bank (ECB) will cut interest rates next April rather than in June as previously expected, economists at Deutsche Bank have said.

The Frankfurt-based ECB is expected to lower borrowing costs by a combined 150 basis points next year, with two half-point steps at the April and June meetings, analysts led by Mark Wall said on Wednesday in a report to clients.
