EasyJet, the British low-cost airline group, has returned to profit for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic decimated the global aviation sector.

Announcing results for its 2023 financial year to the end of September, EasyJet posted a pre-tax profit of £455 million for the 12 month period, which is a significant improvement on the £178 million loss it racked up a year earlier.
