EasyJet parent sues Dublin car hire over use of word 'easy' in its name

Easirent has become the latest target in EasyGroup trademark crusade

The company behind easyJet has launched High Court proceedings against a Dublin-based firm it alleges has infringed its trademark.

EasyGroup Limited and Easy Group IP Ireland Limited claim that ER Travel Limited has attempted to pass itself off as being associated with its brand. The basis for its claim is that the Irish car hire company operates under the name “Easirent”.

They are seeking injunctions concerning use of the name as well as damages.
