In 1995, the first feature film to be animated entirely on a computer landed in cinemas. Toy Story went on to earn $358 million worldwide and became the first of Pixar’s many huge hits. Last month, Reuters reported that Pixar was eliminating 75 positions including the producer and director of 2022’s box office disappointment Lightyear (a spin-off of Toy Story, though not a sequel).

Pixar was sold to Disney in 2006 for approximately $7.4 billion. ...
