AIB has reduced its carbon emissions by 49 per cent since 2019, according to the bank.

The lender said it achieved a 17 per cent reduction last year, and that it was on course to meet its target of being net zero by 2030.

The reduction, detailed in AIB’s 2023 Sustainability Report launched on Monday morning, was achieved due to investment in energy management systems, new LED lighting, and metering and building upgrades.
