Abbey Capital increases dividends to shareholders despite drop in 2023 profits

The company reported a 27 per cent drop in operating profit in its most recent accounts, as the funds it managed returned a ‘mixed performance’

The amount paid out in shareholder dividends by Abbey Capital, the multibillion-euro Irish hedge fund, surged last year despite the firm reporting a sharp fall in profits.

Recently filed accounts for the Dublin-based fund manager show Abbey Capital paid out €58.5 million in dividends last year to its parent firm, Cavendish Capital, which was up by almost a third from the €46 million dividend paid out last year.
