1,600 companies in Ireland now liable for 15% corporate tax rate from today

The new rate will only apply to those companies with turnovers in excess of €750m in at least two of the preceding four years

Up to 1,600 of the biggest companies operating in Ireland will now pay 15% in corporation tax, as the government moves to implement a new internationally agreed rate.

The move away from the 12.5% rate comes on foot of the introduction of the new minimum effective rate of tax for big multinationals agreed by the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD).
