Matt Cooper: We must act now to save the planet from climate change
In Ireland we haven’t experienced the extreme heat as in Europe, but a short holiday there serves as a wake-up call
A little more than two years ago I invited John Gibbons – a contributor to this newspaper on occasions – to join me in The Last Word studio once a week, on a Thursday, to discuss our changing environment because of global warming and climate change and to talk what we should do about it. The reaction to his weekly contribution, and other days when we also invited him onto the show, has been extraordinary.
