What the opposition to the expansion of Dublin Airport and development of further tourism accommodation share in common is a lack of thought for what comes next if they are successful

Of all the predictions in my crystal ball for 2024 a raging battle over the future expansion of Dublin Airport wasn’t one of them. For some reason the planning application to increase the permitted passenger levels from the existing cap of 32 million to 40 million has become a cri de coeur for those who believe that rampant tourism will tip the environment over the precipice.
