Taxi app firm Hailo to merge with Mytaxi

New company will have 10,000 drivers across Europe

Taxi e-hailing companies Hailo and Mytaxi are to merge in a deal they say creates Europe's largest company of its type with 70 million passengers and 10,000 registered taxi drivers.

Hailo operates in the Ireland, Britain and Spain, while Mytaxi is available in Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

The newly-formed company will operate under the Mytaxi brand and will rebrand all Hailo operations in Ireland, Britain and Spain by mid-2017.
