IFA president Eddie Downey earns close to €200,000 a year

Base salary topped-up by directors' fees from Bord Bia and FBD

Irish Farmers' Association president Eddie Downey receives a base salary of €147,000, but also gets directors' fees which bring his annual salary closer to €200,000.

According to reports infarming website Agriland, directors' fees from Bord Bia of €11,970 and from FBD of €40,000 substantially boost Downey's salary. Those fees bring his salary to €198,970 for the year, before expenses are considered.
