Employment in Ireland rose by 2.3 per cent to 1.983 million in the fourth quarter of last year, a rise of 44,100 from the same period a year earlier, as the jobless rate fell to 9.1 per cent, the Central Statistics Office said.
Its latest quarterly household survey showed the number of unemployed fell by 26,100, or 12.2 per cent, to 187,500 in the period.
