Biopharma jobs expected to grow by almost a third
Estimated 8,400 jobs will be created in Ireland’s biopharma sector by 2020
An estimated 8,400 jobs will be created in Ireland’s biopharma sector by 2020, according to a new report from the government’s Expert Group on Future Skills Needs (EGFSN).
The report estimated that 28,200 people were employed in the biopharma industry in 2015. Some 21,500 were engaged in pharma manufacturing and related services. The remaining 6,700 were employed in biologics manufacturing, in which drugs are produced through chemical synthetic processes.
