Writer Sally Brampton dies after battle with severe depression

Tributes have been paid to writer Sally Brampton who reportedly died near her Sussex home after a long period ofintermittent but severe depression.

The 60-year-old died after being seen walking into the sea near her house.

She was an articulate champion forthose suffering mental ill-health and wrote extensively about her depressive illness.
