Staff at Zendesk’s Irish office are in line for tens of millions in payouts as a result of the €10 billion sale of the company, new accounts for the tech firm have shown.

In 2022, the previously Nasdaq-listed customer service software firm was brought private by a group of private equity firms. The €10 billion deal, led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira, was agreed in June and finalised in November.

The company’s Irish operation, which has more than 700 staff led by Julie Swinney, chief financial officer of Zendesk, announced that shareholders would receive $77.50 per share in cash, a 34 per cent premium on the final stock price.
