X claims it has taken action on Israel-Hamas war disinformation

Elon Musk-owned platform responds to European Commission call to take quick action over disinformation being spread on the site

X, the company formerly known as Twitter, has said it scrubbed or labelled tens of thousands of posts including “illegal” content since the Israel-Hamas war erupted, responding to warnings to stem the spread of fake news around the conflict.
