VC deals slump with US at lowest level in seven years

New figures show just 2,395 financings recorded at a combined value of €16.4 billion in Europe in first quarter

Venture capital (VC) investment deals fell to their lowest since 2017 in the US in the first quarter and were “relatively subdued” at a global level, new figures show.

Data compiled by PitchBook, the research platform, shows an estimated 10,222 deals at a combined $75.9 billion took place in the first three months of the year. Some $30.4 billion in fundraising commitments were announced in the quarter and $30.7 billion realised in exit value, the ...
