TikTok appoints NCC to provide third-party oversight of European data centres

Company has been focused on the protection of users in Europe, amid political and regulatory concerns about Chinese government access to user data on the platform.

TikTok has appointed a third-party security company to independently audit its data controls and protections at its data centres in Europe.

The company is establishing three data centres, one of which in Dublin is now operational with migration of European user data to the facility under way. A second Irish data centre, and one located in Norway, are currently under construction.
