Techies commit to sustainable goals

Initiative galvanises hundreds of tech firms to go carbon neutral by 2030

‘We have a target of 300 by the end of this year, we’re well on track for that, and we’re aiming to double that in 2023,’ Michael O’Hara, co-founder of Techies Go Green and group managing director of DataSolutions

A total of 250 tech businesses across Ireland and Britain have committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030 under the Techies Go Green initiative.

The group, which was started last year, aims to have 600 businesses signed up by the end of 2023 and to expand the scheme into other countries.

“We have a target of 300 by the end of this year, we’re well on track for that, and we’re aiming to double that in 2023,” Michael O’Hara, co-founder of Techies Go Green and group managing director of DataSolutions, told Connected.
