Tech firms expect to let go of more staff than they take on for the first time in three years as talent shortages continue to starve the IT sector.

According to a new survey from ManPowerGroup Ireland, which surveyed the employment intentions of 420 employers across the country, hiring optimism among tech companies is set to plummet from 55 per cent two years ago to -8 per cent in the first quarter of 2024.
