September is always a reset month for me. It’s like a less grim January. As the month draws to a close, I’m feeling beyond thrilled with myself for sticking to my end-of-year resolutions. I just need to keep going with them for another few months and then I get to reset again at the start of next year. Ideal.

I haven’t been a student since 2010, but a few weeks ago I went out, like thousands around the country who are students, to buy new notebooks, pens and an academic diary. I have never got over the ‘back to school’ preparation. As I think I’ve mentioned before, I’m a total nerd who loved school.
