Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s Block lays off Irish employees

Block, which employs 300 people locally, is laying off 1,000 people across the company

Block, the payments company founded and led by Jack Dorsey, has laid off a number of employees working at its Irish operations as part of a group-wide restructuring.

The corporate entity, which owns payments service Square, recently confirmed plans to cut approximately 1,000 people across the group to bring headcount to 12,000 people by the end of the year.
