An Irish researcher is leading a new project aimed at improving transparency over carbon usage in the blockchain sector in an effort to reduce greenwashing.

Dr Aisling Connolly, originally from Galway city, is leading the Dfinity Foundation’s proof-of-green (PoG) initiative. The Swiss non-profit is using PoG to standardise how the carbon consumption of blockchains is reported
