Irish online gaming company buys bingo business for $45m

David Butler’s Broadway Gaming to target North America after acquiring a business three times its current size

David Butler, Broadway Gaming’s founder and chief executive, told the Business Post that the acquisition would allow it to scale in other markets.

Broadway Gaming, a Dublin-headquartered company that owns several popular gambling brands and websites, has completed a deal to acquire the bingo business of London-listed 888 Holdings in a $45.25 million (€44.3 million) transaction.

The deal, which consists of a $43.25 million upfront payment and a further $2 million payable in one year’s time, makes Broadway the second biggest online bingo operator in Britain behind Tombola, the company acquired by Flutter, Paddy Power’s parent business, for ...
