Irish co-founded Ochre Bio signs $1.3bn deal with German drugmaker

Ochre Bio, the biotech company founded by Irish man Jack O’Meara, has signed a $1.3 billion deal with a German drugmaker to investigate potential treatments for chronic liver disease.

The collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim is focused on the discovery and development of novel, first-in-class regenerative treatments in conditions that include late-stage metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) cirrhosis.
