Ireland ‘could be a leading global hub for blockchain but regulators must catch up’

Proponents call for more to be done to make it easier for companies establishing and scaling operations in Ireland

Ireland has the potential to become a global hub for blockchain and Web3 activities, but more must be done to facilitate companies wishing to establish operations here. This includes making it easier for firms to set up bank accounts, leading proponents have said.

The comments come as Laura Walsh, one of the founders of Techstars’ Launchpool Web3 Techstars accelerator, which is currently concluding, confirmed the programme will return to Dublin again next year.
