Funding for Irish fintechs plummets in the first half of this year to just €54m
New figures show a big decline in funding rounds for Irish and European fintech’s this year but the future is still positive, according to Finch Capital
Funding for European fintech’s fell 70 per cent in the first six months of the year, and declined 28.1 per cent in Ireland, new figures show.
However, once the $53.5 million funding deal for Nomupay is excluded, Ireland experienced a 94 per cent funding drop on a year-on-year basis, one of the highest falls recorded in Europe.
