How the ‘enshittification’ of social media platforms impacts us all

When platforms turn bad they can cause great upset, unless we take a step back and prevent the cycle from continuing, writes Jess Kelly

One of my favourite things about Twitter is Susie Dent’s feed. Susie, the staple of Countdown’s Dictionary Corner, tweets a ‘word of the day’ and gives a definition. Not only is it a glorious daily source of a nugget of knowledge, but I also like to think of ways to incorporate that word into a conversation, as a little challenge for myself.
