Facebook, Instagram and Threads are back online after a global outage on Tuesday afternoon affected hundreds of thousands of users.

Users found themselves unable to load apps or access websites with Facebook users being informed they had been logged out.

Andy Stone, communications director at Meta, posted a note on X, formerly Twitter, confirming that the company was aware of people having trouble accessing services but there was no official comment from the tech giant.
