Global spending on the construction of data centres is forecast to hit $49 billion by 2030, up from $32 billion last year, according to McKinsey.

A new report from the management consultancy firm indicates there is no let up in appetite for data centres, with investors increasingly interested in them because of the steady, utility-like cashflows and risk-adjusted yields.
