Cybersecurity threats are ‘like an ongoing bar fight in a western’, Dublin conference hears

The director of the National Cyber Security Centre has warned of an increase in online threats due to forthcoming elections

More than 5,000 cybersecurity incidents were reported to the national body charged with advising the government on security threats last year.

Speaking at a conference in Dublin on Wednesday, Richard Browne, director of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), admitted that the organisation was “generally a pain in the arse for a lot of people,” due to its auditing of organisations.
