Data security start-up Oblivious raises €5.3m

Company is building tools to allow data scientists and machine learning models to work with sensitive data without it ever being downloaded.

Oblivious co-founders Robert Pisarczyk and Jack Fitzsimons: “We focus on building tools that allow data scientists to access and use the world's most impactful data while ensuring it is used for its intended purpose”

Oblivious, an Irish start-up that has developed software which allows techies to work on sensitive data without directly seeing it, has raised €5.35 million in an oversubscribed funding round.

The financing was led by Cavalry Ventures, a Berlin-based early-stage venture capital fund with over €260 million in assets under management, that has also previously backed fellow Irish start-ups Nory and WhenThen.
