US broadcasters’ streaming push shows platforms like GAA Go are here to stay

Research by S&P Global shows that the total spent on US rights for sports on TV and streaming has doubled in a decade, despite the decline of pay-TV subscriptions

The overall value of US sports broadcast rights is projected to reach $34.7 billion by 2027, as players like Comcast, Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery double down on the development of streaming platforms.

New research by S&P Global Market Intelligence shows that the total amount spent on TV and streaming sports media rights in the US will approach $30 billion this year – more than double the figure recorded under a decade ago.
