Tempting trove of treasures at Fonsie Mealy’s winter auction
The abundance of items on offer include the Eden Vale Bottle Carrier, timepieces, lamps and furniture from the American Arts & Crafts movement
Treasures are to be found at Fonsie Mealy’s forthcoming two-day Chatsworth Winter Fine Art sale containing 1,090 lots of art, furniture, silver, ceramics and objets d’art.
Notable highlights include Lot 901, an important Irish provincial mahogany bottle carrier on stand, probably Limerick circa 1780. Known as the Eden Vale Bottle Carrier, it was commissioned by William Stacpoole, High Sherriff, Co Clare, for his new residence Eden Vale, Killone, close to Ennis (€7,000-€9,000).
