Irish-born artist Francis Bacon has been described as a maverick favouring a distinctive and sometimes disturbing realism, which has made him one of the most extraordinary artists of the last century.

To mark the 30th anniversary of his death, Sotheby’s Paris is holding a curated sale of 20 items including, paintings, design, photographs and mementoes from his Parisian studio which celebrate his life-long love affair with France.
