An atypical landscape by the Irish painter forms part of the upcoming Irish & International Online Art auction
Paul Henry is considered by many as one the greatest Irish landscape painters of the 20th century, and this gem of a painting titled Cottages on Achill Sound is certainly testament to this accolade.
A quintessential Henry depicting traditional thatched cottages and turf stacks – but there is a subtle difference in this work, dated to the early 1930s, with its open blue sea on the unbroken horizon.
