Irish women artists firmly in the picture at Whyte’s auction

Works by Mabel Young, Letitia Marion Hamilton, Lilian Lucy Davidson, Norah McGuinness and Mary Swanzy stand out in this upcoming sale

Whyte’s deftly curated Important Irish Art auction on Monday March 6 includes the great and the good, including Paul Henry, Jack Butler Yeats and Donald Teskey.

What struck me most from studying the catalogue, however, was the number of works by female artists from the last century, all with incredible life stories and exceptional talent.
