Hat trick of wins at prestigious Chelsea Flower Show

The Irish contingent fared exceptionally well at this year’s Olympics of horticultural shows, with a coveted gold medal for a lush, bog-inspired display and a silver for a sanctuary garden

Over the years, many Irish-based designers, horticulturists and artists have been tempted across the Irish sea to showcase their skills at Royal Horticultural Society shows. Having your talents acknowledged at the Chelsea Flower Show, in particular, is seen as the pinnacle of achievement.

Despite the difficulties of Brexit, the gruelling schedule, the intense pressure and the exacting standards, this year was a good one for the Irish contingent at Chelsea.
