From Nordic cool to blazing desertscapes, modern chic takes a front row seat at DeVeres

DeVeres’ forthcoming International Art & Design timed auction, which closes on April 30, is truly outstanding and will get the pulses racing.

The sale has been expertly assembled by long time champion of design, Rory Guthrie, and as one would expect has superb examples of Nordic design.

Consider lot 10, a Rosewood desk by Svend Aage Madsen which, the catalogue notes, “captures the essence of Scandinavian modern style” (€2,000-€3,000).

Lot 17 is an impressive acrylic on canvas by Michael Cullen titled Desertscape with Automobile. Measuring 127cm x 149cm, the heat from the candy pink coloured sand and vivid blue sky is arresting (€4,000-€6,000).
