Maintaining the health of a nation’s fine arts is down to the collectors who buy art for love, as opposed to investment – and, more importantly, take an active interest in every aspect of the art scene, befriending and encouraging the artists they admire. From their arrival in Ireland in 1974, Jacqueline Stanley and Campbell Bruce were just such a pair.
